The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered new ways of education. In 2020, attending online classes every day become the ‘new normal’ for students during the lockdown in India. Online classes require significantly more motivation and attention. I found it difficult to focus on a pixelated video screen when I could browse the internet on my computer, text on my phone, watch TV in the background, have one hand in the pantry, or just lay comfortably in my bed or using social media. The whole 2020 year went online. However, the reality is that some subjects are much harder to transfer online like accountancy, maths, etc.

But in 2021 Feb, exams were offline which caused really a problem because I missed handwritten critiques and felt limited in words. Fortunately, I’ve passed my Class- 11th and promoted to Class- 12th.

ADVANTAGES OF ONLINE LEARNING: Online learning offers teachers an efficient way to deliver lessons to students such as videos, PDFs, podcasts, etc. It allows students to attend classes from any location of their choice. Online education is far more affordable as compared to physical learning. This too improved the student's attendance. Creating a paperless learning environment that is more affordable, while also being beneficial to the environment. It is the best way to create a perfect learning environment suited to the needs of each student.

DISADVANTAGES OF ONLINE LEARNING: For many students, one of the biggest challenges of online learning is the struggle with focusing on the screen for long periods of time. Without a consistent internet connection for students or teachers, there can be a lack of continuity in learning for the child. This is detrimental to the education process. Students can learn a lot from being in the company of their peers. However, in an online class, there are minimal physical interactions between students and teachers. Many parents are concerned about the health hazards of having their children spend so many hours staring at a screen. This increase in screen time is one of the biggest concerns and disadvantages of online learning. Sometimes students also develop bad posture and other physical problems due to staying hunched in front of a screen.

As the cases are increasing day by day in India again classes went online but I’m not happy with that because there is no way we can compare the experience of learning within a class to learning online. I hope my offline classes will start soon :)
